Carbondale Arts presents Everlasting Floral Design, a solo exhibition by Abby Zlotnick at the Carbondale Arts Gallery, on display October 2 - 29, 2026. The opening reception will take place on First Friday, October 2, from 5-7pm at The Launchpad, with an artist talk at 5:30pm.

This show celebrates the timeless beauty of locally-grown flowers in October through all-dried, everlasting arrangements and installations. Abby Zlotnick is the owner of Juniper Farm and has been consistently inspired by farming since her first farming experience in 2012. Since then, she has made it her mission to share a slice of the Earth’s greatest joys with her community.
As a florist, much of my work is inherently temporary. I create large-scale installations from living flowers that may take months of growing, planning, and preparation, yet are experienced for only a few hours before being taken apart and discarded. There is something both beautiful and difficult about that impermanence.
The materials in this installation carry evidence of both cultivation and time. Almost every ingredient was grown, harvested, and dried by hand, making the finished work as much a product of farming as it is of floral design.

Abby Zlotnick
Carbondale, CO
Abby Zlotnick is a farmer, floral designer, and botanical artist based in Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley. She is the founder of Juniper Farm and Juniper Floral Design, where her work centers on growing and designing with seasonal flowers.
Her artistic practice is rooted in an intimate understanding of plants: their growth, movement, imperfections, and transformation throughout a season. Working primarily with materials grown on her farm and sourced from the surrounding landscape, she explores the intersection of cultivation and design.
Her dried floral installations extend the life of ephemeral materials beyond the growing season, preserving traces of summer while allowing plants to take on new forms through drying, fading, and decay. Her work reflects an interest in finding beauty not only at peak bloom, but throughout the full life cycle of a plant.
