This project is a collaboration between the Carbondale Art's Creative Apprentice Program and The Project Shop's ReWear Initiative. The Creative Apprentice Program pays teens (14-20) to work with creative professionals to create works of community value through collaboration and learning.

Field Guide to the Roaring Fork Valley

Over the course of 14 weeks, seven local students have the opportunity to work with local visual artist, Lindsay Jones to shape a guidebook to their community. The guide will be both practical and poetic and will feature physical sites, cultural resources and displays of social realities. Field guide coming soon.

Coal Basin: Landscape Interventions

As part of the 2022 Summer apprentice project, three teens worked with local landscape designer Hallie Miller to study the landscape at Coal Basin Ranch and investigate ways we understand and shape place. Through the project the apprentices developed designs and prototypes for custom entry signage at Coal Basin Ranch.

Zine Project: Door to the Abditorium

During the initial Creative Apprentice project in 2021 and 2022, 4 students used the opportunity to share stories, collaborate and create. The resulting poetry, drawings, and long-form writing expressed their personal and observed experiences with and around mental health issues.
