May First Friday | Family Block Party

May First Friday kicks off Carbondale’s summer season of events on May 2, featuring extended hours and events at shops, galleries, restaurants, plus outdoor food trucks and street activities and games offered by community booths. 

**UPDATE: The Carbondale Pride celebration will move to June’s First Friday as part of recognizing the nationwide month of Pride as June. Read the full press release here.

 

What’s Happening:

  • Family Block Party | Chacos Park, 4th St Plaza | 4-8pm 

    Local food, music by youth, and activities for kids of all ages! Proceeds go back to the community and Colorado Animal Rescue. Learn more

  • A Mama’s Garden Collaborative Installation | The Launchpad | 4-8pm 

    Help create an interactive floral installation celebrating Mother's Day. Free! Learn more

  • Beerworks | 8pm 

    Nine Year Anniversary Party with DJ Kid Knowledge & Head Hooligan

  • Bodegón | 6:30pm

    The outdoor patio will be open with live music by Aggie Flores. A live DJ set begins at 10pm.

STREET CLOSURE: Main Street becomes a pedestrian corridor from 5-9pm and is closed to thru traffic from Weant Blvd to Snowmass Ave. New this year: 2nd and 3rd Streets will remain open for cross traffic, with a detour on Sopris Ave.
