This year’s theme, drumroll please….For the 2027 Carbondale Arts Fashion Show, we’re diving into The Labyrinth: Full of twists and turns, obstacles and illusions, a labyrinth is a journey where getting lost is exactly the point. The Labyrinth is a place ominous, absurd, beautiful, funny, disorienting, and wildly imaginative. With puzzles to solve, lies to uncover, strange encounters, cryptic clues, and dead ends, anything could be waiting around the next corner.

Designer applications are now open. Artists and designers who have experience working in fashion, textiles, graphic, and industrial design are encouraged to apply.
Clothing must be sustainably created using a combination of ethically sourced, sustainable fabrics, up-cycled, and/or recycled materials made by the applying designer or in a fair trade and/or locally-sourced scenario.
Carbondale Arts works with amateur, volunteer models from the community and cares deeply about presenting all body types in the fashion show. Designs must be available or adjustable for a wide range of shapes and sizes.
NEW THIS YEAR: Carbondale Arts is offering stipends to designers based on the amount of designs in their collections, as well as the return of designer awards for People’s Choice, Best Use of Materials, Best Use of Theme. Details in the application.

Model registration opens: Wednesday, November 4, 2026 | Closes December 1 (capped at 80people)
Have you been strutting your stuff in the Fashion Show for 4 or more years? Would you consider taking a year off to make room for new faces and fresh energy on the runway? Self-electing for a “fashion sabbatical” helps us create opportunities for more members of our community to get a moment in the spotlight. We’re so grateful for your continued support and hope you’ll consider cheering us on from the audience, or in another volunteer role, this year!

Model auditions: Sunday, December 6, 2026 | Acceptance notification December 18
First All Cast Rehearsal: Sunday, January 10, 2027
