Main St. Street Mural

As we are still living in the unknown, in terms of returning back to business as we knew it before the pandemic, we are working hard to make the most out of this situation. Mural at El Jardin de Arte Folklórico Latino

This mural was completed in 2019 as part of the “Latinx Folk Art Garden,” a community garden along the Rio Grande ARTway. Senior art student Tansy Zacharias and her mentor, Valerie Rose created this piece to represent Latin cultures and asked the community to help them paint the final product. (Touch ups done years later by Gabriela Mejia).

The project is designed by the coming together of the Latinx + Anglo communities. The purpose of this project is to call attention to the importance of Latinx culture in our valley. Read More
