Carbondale Arts presented “Yellow For Frances”, a solo painting exhibition by Eden Keil with an opening reception on First Friday, May 3, from 6-8pm at the R2 Gallery inside The Launchpad. This exhibition opened the same evening as “Linear // Planar“, a 2-person ceramic show with Savanna LaBauve and Stephanie Seguin. R2 Gallery patrons and Carbondale Arts members were invited to a special preview and artist talk at 5:30pm before the shows opened to the public at 6pm.
Eden Keil is an artist interested in landscape in its broadest sense. Yellow for Frances was a series of paintings which continued an exploration of the landscape through an abstracted and personal lens. The paintings combined elements of previous works, dissected and reimagined, with a focus on integrating yellow into the pieces. The work looked formally to waves, mountains, ultrasounds, radar, wood grain and other imagery across scales.
“Yellow For Frances” was on exhibit at the R2 Gallery through May 31, 2019.
