Carbondale is an “arts” town, and is a central hub of arts activity in the Roaring Fork Valley from Aspen to Rifle. In 2012, we were the recipients of the Governor’s Art Award for our commitment to arts and creativity and in 2014 were selected for the state of Colorado’s Creative District Program. Our Mountain Fair celebrates art in all forms of expression, and is known for its diverse range, non-stop entertainment, great food and amazing spirit. Our juried fair is continually looking for interesting new musical acts, handmade goods and food. Over 300 volunteers come together to make this one of the most popular and unique fairs in Colorado, and admission is FREE.

Carbondale Arts Valley Artists' Booth
Applications available in May
The booth allows local artists to exhibit and sell their artwork in a cooperative, inexpensive way. Gallery space is limited, and artwork will be juried. Applicants must be current members of Carbondale Arts and reside in an "816" ZIP code area. Submissions must be your own handmade (not manufactured, not imported) work. Criteria for judging include quality and uniqueness of items.
Artists are required to assist with set-up and breakdown, and to work shifts during the fair. Carbondale Arts will provide the tent, pro panels and pedestals. Artists are responsible for their own display. Carbondale Arts will handle the accounting and collect sales tax.
Kicking off on Friday evening and continuing from late morning into the night on both Saturday and Sunday, the Carbondale Mountain Fair provides musical entertainment on both the Main Stage and the Oasis (Youth Zone) Stage. Every year we strive to bring a broad spectrum of artists to the fair to satisfy the diverse group of around 20,000 visitors that visit Mountain Fair throughout the weekend.
