Carbondale Arts presents 2 exhibitions opening to the public on Thursday, September 12, from 6-8pm at the R2 Gallery located inside The Launchpad. A preview for Carbondale Arts members and gallery patrons will take place at 5:30pm with a talk by the artists.
An exhibition of Jack Brendlinger’s sculptural bronze works will be shown as a retrospective. Jack’s sculptures are produced with the lost wax technique. With age, his work has become abstract, gravity defying, modern, and filled with whimsical characters. Jack is a fifth generation Coloradan (born in Denver) and is a highly accomplished artist and sculptor.
Solo exhibition “Transcultural Bonding In Clothing” represents the work of Etar, an established and well-known fabric artist in the Roaring Fork Valley. The show will take visitors on a transcultural journey through fabric, highlighting Etar’s experiences working with locals in Bolivia, Uzbekistan, Dubai, and many parts of Europe as well. Etar has lived and worked in Aspen for over 30 years and created unique, high-end clothing for many dedicated clients.
Both shows will remain on display through October 4. Gallery hours are 9-5 weekdays and 10-2 on Saturdays. Learn more about both exhibitions at https://www.carbondalearts.com/r2-gallery/
