There are some awesome competitions coming during Mountain Fair! This Year, there have been a few changes made to the classic Mountain Fair Competitions. Events with important changes are marked with a +

Saturday, July 24:

*+ The Mount Sopris Runoff has athletes of all different abilities talking this year. Independence Run and Hike has taken over the race, adding a shorter, easier, 4 mile downhill, starting at the top of Prince Creek Road and ending at the Gazebo in Sopris Park. There will be a bus available to take racers to the top of Prince Creek at 7:15 am from Sopris Park and another bus to take racers back to their cars. The Original race has also been shortened a bit. It will now be starting at the Emma Schoolhouse and ending at the Gazebo. This race will begin at 7:30 am.  Registration begins at 6:15. Download race brochure.

* At 10:30 there will be a fly casting competition for all of you fishermen/women

* At 11:00 am the beloved pie baking contest will be held in the Judging Tent at Sopris Park. Entries should be submitted between 10:00-10:45. Be sure to stop by later and buy a slice of heaven!

*At 12:00 The Singles Horseshoe Tournament will be occuring at Glacier Park. The park is located half a block from Weant. Sign up for this in advance at the Information Booth at Mountain Fair, or just show up!

* Ready to get limber? Then enter the adult limbo contest at 2:30. A kids limbo contest will be hosted at 3:30 in the Oasis in Sopris Park.

* Don’t miss the women’s wood splitting contest at 4:00 in the Open Space!

Sunday, July 25th

*+ At 9:00 the Porcupine Loop Bike Race will be happening at 7th and Euclid. Show up at 8:00 id you need to register. Don’t forget to wear costumes! They will give you points as well as well as ensure a good time!

*+ Calling all Chefs! There will be a cake baking contest at 11:00 at the Judging tent.  The theme is disco and all of the judges will decked out as fantasticlly as the cakes. The cake catagories this year are cakes, torts, and vegan.

* At 12:00 noon, there is a Horseshoe Tournament at Glassier Park.

* Kids, don’t miss the  Kids Hula Hoop contest at 12:30!

* At 3:45, there will  be a talent show in the Oasis. Come show off your skills!

* The mens woodsplitting contest will be at 4:00 in the open space.
