Basics of Drawing

Students will learn the basics of drawing like perspective, proportions, and shading. Students will draw in nature as well as in class.

Create A Masterpiece Painting

with Dara Barth

July 15-19 1:00 – 3:00

Ages: 6-10

Paint a still life painting with acrylic paints on a 8×8 wood block. Subjects will be studied and sketched. Each child will put together their own painting starting with the objects to paint. This detailed process will highlight planning and creativity. Your child will come home with a quality piece of “kitchen art”. Techniques include: using shapes in composition, using complimentary colors and shading.

Claymation Creations

Ages 9-13

Characters created out of sculpey. Teams create storyboards and sets. Each student will leave with a DVD of group movie.

ABCDEFGHola! In this workshop inspired by artist-writer Kay Rosen, you’ll create playful works of art by using both English and Spanish words and phrases as inspiration. Use wordplay to build language skills while discovering a variety of fun art techniques and materials. A collaboration with The Aspen Museum’s Summer Workshops.

Garden Variety Art
